Author Guidelines
Origo Medica Journal welcomes contributions that promote scientific discussion, innovation, and evidence-based advancement in medicine, biomedical sciences, and healthcare development.
The journal publishes high-quality manuscripts related to clinical medicine, translational medicine, biomedical sciences, healthcare innovation, and hospital-based or healthcare-related research projects.
All submitted manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and professional English. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.

Authors are strongly encouraged to prepare manuscripts using the journal templates.

Mandatory Submission Requirements
Before submission, authors must prepare and clearly state the following items in the manuscript and supplementary files:
- Ethics approval information and ethical clearance number (if applicable);
- Conflict of Interest statement;
- Funding statement;
- Author contribution statement;
- Author declaration regarding originality and self-citation;
- Disclosure regarding the use of Generative AI tools (if applicable).
Incomplete submissions may be returned or rejected during the initial editorial screening process.
Double-Blind Peer Review Requirements
Origo Medica Journal uses a double-blind peer review system where author and reviewer identities are concealed throughout the review process.
Authors must submit:
- A separate Title Page containing author information;
- A Blinded Manuscript without author identifiers.
Title Page Must Include:
- Full manuscript title;
- Author names and affiliations;
- Corresponding author contact information;
- Word count;
- Number of tables and figures.
Blinded Manuscript Requirements:
- Remove all author names and affiliations;
- Do not include acknowledgments;
- Remove funding identifiers;
- Remove identifying metadata from files;
- Use anonymous self-citations when necessary;
- Ensure figures and supplementary files contain no institutional identifiers.
Initial Editorial Assessment
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial assessment evaluating:
- Suitability with journal aims and scope;
- Scientific relevance and originality;
- English language quality;
- Formatting compliance;
- Ethical compliance and plagiarism screening.
Manuscripts that fail to meet minimum editorial standards may be rejected prior to peer review.
Peer Review Process
Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.
Reviewers evaluate:
- Scientific quality;
- Methodological rigor;
- Clinical relevance;
- Ethical standards;
- Originality and contribution to the field.
Reviewer recommendations may include:
- Accept;
- Minor Revision;
- Major Revision;
- Reject.
Authors are expected to respond carefully to all reviewer comments and submit revised manuscripts within the specified revision period.
Editorial Process
Accepted manuscripts proceed through:
- Copyediting;
- Language editing;
- Formatting and layout editing;
- Proofreading;
- Final author approval before publication.
Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be based on substantial contributions to:
- Study conception and design;
- Data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation;
- Drafting or critically revising the manuscript;
- Final approval of the submitted version;
- Accountability for the integrity and accuracy of the work.
Individuals who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
Changes to authorship after submission are generally not permitted except under exceptional circumstances approved by the editorial office.
Manuscript Formatting
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx);
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt;
- Spacing: Double-spaced;
- Margins: Justified alignment;
- No headers, footers, or endnotes.
Abstract Requirements
All manuscripts must include an abstract not exceeding 300 words.
The abstract should clearly summarize:
- Background;
- Objectives;
- Methods;
- Results;
- Conclusions.
References and undefined abbreviations should not appear in the abstract.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be clear, properly numbered, and cited within the manuscript text.
Authors should:
- Use editable table formats;
- Avoid excessive formatting or shading;
- Provide clear figure legends;
- Ensure image quality suitable for publication;
- Obtain permission for reproduced materials when necessary.
Abbreviations and Units
Abbreviations should be used only when necessary and defined at first mention.
All laboratory and scientific measurements should follow the International System of Units (SI).
References
References must follow the Vancouver citation style and should be numbered consecutively according to appearance in the text.
Authors are encouraged to include DOI information whenever available.
Publication Ethics
Origo Medica Journal adheres to international publication ethics standards and follows recommendations from:
- COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
- ICMJE Recommendations
- International standards for scholarly publishing integrity
Plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, and unethical research practices are strictly prohibited.
